 IPIECA workshops
The IPIECA Oil Spill Working Group organises workshops which bring together stakeholders to discuss key issues relating to Oil Spill Preparedness and Response.
External events
Like any discipline, regular attendance at key meetings and conferences helps oil spill professionals stay current with the latest techniques, strategies, and equipment, besides being a great networking opportunity. IPIECA has always encouraged industry participation in these important fora. Information on events relevant to the OSWG are listed on this page.
International Oil Spill Conference Cycle
While there are many smaller local events, over the years has seen the emergence of three major oil spill conferences. The conference organising committees have now coordinated their events and moved to establish a three year cycle with an annual rotation between Europe, the Americas, and Australasia. IPIECA is the only organisation involved in the organisation of all three conferences and as such has adopted a leadership role in coordinating the three year cycle.
