McDermott actively engages with its host communities to identify opportunities to implement social responsibility initiatives that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These initiatives are carried out with local implementation partners in communities located within 50 kilometers of their local offices.
In 2021, McDermott successfully installed a solar power plant and a solar-powered reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment system in ten schools in Haryana (Pataudi and Gurgaon) and Tamil Nandu (Chennai). The initiative reduces 9 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2 ) emissions per year and provides 650 kiloliters of refrigerated, RO-purified drinking water to 10,000 students and faculty.
The project contributes to harnessing the energy value chain to provide clean, engineered solutions to support building a more sustainable future for our communities.
McDermott's social investment is an essential component to maintaining its social license to operate.
