Building business value, improving operations and strengthening relationships

IPIECA is launching a fact sheet that provides an overview of the IPIECA, API and IOGP Oil and gas industry guidance on voluntary sustainability reporting, and how it can help companies; outlining the benefits of sustainability reporting, and highlighting the content of a typical oil and gas industry sustainability report.

The third edition of the Guidance has been endorsed by a number of regional associations, committed to promoting the practice of sustainability reporting among their membership:

  • The Regional Association of Oil, Gas and Biofuels Sector Companies in Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL).
  • The Canadian Fuels Association.
  • The South African Petroleum Industry Association.

Sustainability reporting is an important way for companies in the oil and gas sector to engage with stakeholders and help foster informed dialogue and understanding. The third edition of the Guidance, launched in September 2015, represents industry consensus on the most prevalent sustainability issues and indicators, and aims to support continuous improvement of sustainability reporting and performance across the sector.
