IPIECA and Conservation International (CI) are running an event titled Oil & water don't mix - embedding water management in oil & gas at World Water Week 2014, taking place from 31 August – 5 September in Stockholm.
The event will involve a panel session with speakers from IPIECA members BP, Chevron and Shell, moderated by CI, which will explore how the industry is proactively and collectively managing issues related to the potential risks and opportunities of water use, including some of the challenges it faces.
The event will build upon the launch of the Water Management Framework at World Water Week 2013, since which two further guidance documents have been produced on Identifying and assessing water sources and Optimising water use through efficiency (for launch in late 2014). Conservation International will also speak about the work they have been doing with the industry to enhance the Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool (IBAT) for water.
If you are attending World Water Week, please come and participate in the side event – Tuesday 2 September, 17:45-18:45 in room K21.
