IPIECA has developed a new section of its website that houses a selection of case studies from member companies on how they have been using tools such as the IPIECA Global Water Tool for Oil and Gas and the GEMI Local Water Tool™ for Oil and Gas to assess water risks in their operations.
Case studies from ConocoPhillips, Eni and Statoil highlight some of the benefits of applying water risk tools for oil and gas companies, as well as some challenges and lessons learned. These case studies build upon IPIECA’s review of water risk tools (2014), which provides a summary and explanation of several water risk tools, and contains additional short case studies from BP, Chevron and Occidental Petroleum. IPIECA will continue collecting case studies from members on water management (not solely about water tools) in early 2015 – if you are interested in developing a water case study for the IPIECA website, please contact email@example.com.
