IPIECA joins over 20 oil and gas and mining companies in London for the 5th Responsible Extractives Summit on 23 -24 June to discuss the future of social licence and shared value in the post-2015 development agenda.
The Chair of the IPIECA Social Responsibility Working Group and Hess Corporation’s Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility, Gabriella Herzog will be a panellist during the session Enhancing Community Relations through Best Practice Grievance Mechanisms.
Other aspects of the agenda reflect the various areas that companies are using to harmonise their community relations through risk minimisation and creating shared value. Issues such as human rights due diligence in security and supply chain, prudent use of social investment and aiding socio-economic development through operations, stakeholder engagement and mitigating the social risk of water will also be addressed.
Companies speaking include Total, Statoil, Hess Corporation, BG Group, Marathon Oil, Rio Tinto, Barrick Gold, AngloGold Ashanti and Anglo American.
