Russian oil company Bashneft joins IPIECA

Integrated oil company Bashneft has joined IPIECA. The company started oil production in 1932 and ranks among the top-ten Russian oil producers, and in the top-five oil refining companies. Bashneft’s cumulative production in the Republic of Bashkortostan exceeds 1.65 billion tonnes, with more than 170 fields in commercial production and oil production totals of about 15 million tonnes per year.

'For Bashneft, joining  IPIECA and OGP is a further step towards improving its management system and its performance in the sphere of health, safety, environment and social responsibility,' emphasized Randall Gossen, a member of Bashneft's Board of Directors and Chairman of the Health, Safety, Environment and Social Responsibility Committee. 'Participation in the work of these associations will enable the Company to gain access to best practices and expertise in these spheres and to integrate best practices of leading global oil and gas companies in its day-to-day operations.'

Bashneft's strategic goal in the sphere of HSE is to become a leader among Russian energy companies and to comply with international HSE standards and regulations.
