IPIECA develops, shares and promotes good practice and knowledge that will help the industry improve its environmental and social performance.
IPIECA’s documents and technical reports provide reliable guidance on how key issues may be addressed by the industry, and have become trusted reference manuals within and beyond the industry. IPIECA has published over 130 guides.
IPIECA has produced a guide summarizing all of its good practice publications. Individual good practice guides are available from our library.
IPIECA’s working groups enable members to share knowledge, experience, strategies, and approaches to key issues. IPIECA organizes meetings and workshops so that experts from within and outside the industry can jointly develop and communicate the oil and gas sector’s responses to global environmental and social challenges.

The oil and gas industry is using partnerships to respond to the challenges of meeting global energy demand and contributing to sustainable development.
IPIECA is involved and actively engaged in a number of initiatives such as The Global Initiative, Partnership for Clean Fuel and Vehicles (PCFV) and The Voluntary Principles for Security and Human Rights (VPSHR).
IPIECA’s United Nations consultative status allows it to communicate directly with the UN and take part in UN meetings.
IPIECA represents the oil and gas industry in a number of UN meetings including the UN climate change and biodiversity meetings and conferences and has built strong partnerships with UN organizations such as the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and International Maritime Organization (IMO).
IPIECA has produced publications and case studies based materials that communicate industry actions on environmental and social issues.
