Collaborating to improve reforestation and reclamation of boreal forests: OSLI case study

February 2013

This case study is about the Oil Sands Leadership Initiative (OSLI), a collaboration of oil sands developers in Canada who undertook to demonstrate enhanced environmental performance, using on-the-ground initiatives to reduce impacts on biodiversity in the boreal forests of the oil sands region.  Specifically, the OSLI began an initiative addressing disturbed sites, with the objective of accelerating reforestation; this has become known as the Faster Forests program.
