There is a growing demand for metal and mineral resources that are needed for the energy transition, including for wind and solar energy developments. Mining, processing, and use of these metals and minerals produce emissions and have environmental and social impacts. Broken supply chains can also increase the criticality and risks associated with these metals and minerals.
