Ipieca was founded in 1974 at the request of the UN Environment Programme to act as the UN-industry interface on environmental and climate issues. In the five decades that have followed, Ipieca has formed impactful partnerships with a wide range of UN, NGOs and academic organizations, and is now involved with the UN on all its strategic pillars: climate, nature, people and sustainability.
