Tawirat (Danny) Bates is the Project Manager for the Global Initiative for Southeast Asia (GI SEA), a regional programme delivered under the Ipieca-IMO Global Initiative framework. He brings over seven years of experience in oil spill preparedness and response, with a strong technical foundation developed through frontline response roles at OSRL.
In addition to his operational background, Danny supported OSRL’s broader engagement efforts through his role in the Business Development team, working closely with industry stakeholders across South East Asia.
He believes that collaboration is key to achieving meaningful and lasting improvements in oil spill preparedness. Through GI SEA, he is committed to strengthening regional cooperation and building local capacity by fostering strong partnerships between governments, industry and international organisations.
