Hosted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers, ATCE 2022 is the leading technical energy conference and exhibition for E&P professionals from around the globe.

Held in Houston, Texas, on 3-5 October, the theme of ATCE 2022 is 'Empower Progress. Empower Energy'. The conference hopes to highlight how innovation and technology can lead the industry to develop sustainable solutions to achieve growth.

Ipieca Environment Director, Ian Sealy, is participating in a technical session on 'Methane abatement technology' on 5 October and will be sharing insights from Ipieca's Flaring management guidance for the oil and gas industry which was launched earlier this year. The guidance outlines new developments in flaring management and reduction, and examines industry experiences with eliminating flaring, new technologies, business models, operational improvements and regulatory policy.

Ian Sealy

Nature Director

Ian Sealy is the Nature Director at Ipieca, with overall responsibility for the environment, biodiversity and ecosystem services, water and oil spill preparedness and response workstreams. Ian joined Ipieca in February 2022 with over 40 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry in Africa, Europe and North America. From 2009 to 2022 he was the Global Environmental Manager for SLB and has over 25 years of health, safety and environmental management experience in business unit and corporate positions. He has an engineering degree from University College London, is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a Chartered Engineer.
