Webinar: McDermott case study on embedded carbon in EPC projects

During this webinar, Elizabeth Carlson, Global Head of Sustainability at McDermott, will present on measuring CAPEX emissions in oil and gas facilities.

CAPEX emissions from engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects, or the emissions embedded in an oil and gas facility, should be taken into account alongside the facility operations and end use of oil and gas products. According to the International Energy Agency, the construction and building sector accounts for 39% of energy-related carbon dioxide emissions globally.

This webinar will introduce McDermott’s carbon footprint methodology and initial study results on low carbon project delivery, including:

  • progress to track EPC project impacts from fabrication, construction, and modularization across multiple sites; and
  • embedded carbon in the supply chain.

Findings demonstrate that collaboration across the value chain, including oil and gas facility owners, EPC companies, equipment manufacturers, and material and freight suppliers, is required to advance low carbon facility development.
