Petrobras runs the Young Apprentice Programme to engage and attract young talent, with 1,392 participants across 16 Brazilian states in 2022. The programme trained 667 apprentices in 2022, admitting new participants in October. Selection prioritized marginalized groups, including those in foster care, former child laborers, and people with disabilities. By December 2022, 725 young individuals were actively involved.
The initiative adheres to legal mandates, ensuring compliance with laws regarding apprentice employment quotas. Classes within the programme last up to two years, providing comprehensive learning experiences. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic, Petrobras maintained the programme's continuity, utilizing assisted technology when necessary to facilitate learning courses.
