Effectively managing and reducing the routine or unscheduled flaring of natural gas across oil and gas operations is crucial for minimising upstream emissions.

By adopting innovative solutions and leveraging advanced technologies, the industry can significantly reduce methane emissions, conserve valuable natural gas and enhance energy security for communities worldwide.

This webinar will focus on the World Bank Global Flaring and Methane Reduction Partnership’s (GFMR) 2026 global gas flaring tracker report. It will also highlight recent updates to the tracker’s methodology, which aim to improve the accuracy and consistency of global gas flaring estimates, as well as provide a brief overview of the GFMR 2025 annual progress report.

It will feature Zubin Bamji, Manager for the Global Flaring and Methane Reduction Partnership (GFMR), World Bank Group, Alexandrina Platonova-Oquab, Senior Energy Specialist, World Bank and Meredydd Evans, Senior Energy Specialist, World Bank Group, who will share key insights and takeaways from the latest analysis.

It will be moderated by Ipieca’s Methane Task Force Chair, Adam Pacsi, Methane Policy Advisor at Chevron.
