Ipieca hosted a virtual webinar series on practical abatement technologies and case studies to help operators understand detection, quantification and reduction of methane emissions.

Addressing methane emissions in the oil and gas industry involves the adoption of best practices, engagement with key organizations and resources, and the integration of new technologies. Through enhancing collaboration and considering perspectives from across the sector, the industry can better identify regional barriers to mitigation, successes, and on ongoing efforts to advance climate action.

Responding to growing regional interest in developing additional capacity on methane emission reductions, Ipieca in partnership with Arpel, ACP and AMEXHI, and supported by IOGP and OGDC, organised a three-part webinar series focussing on the Latin America region.

The webinars covered the following themes:

  • Source abatement technologies featuring Baker Hughes, GeoPark and Oxy
  • Advanced technologies featuring Chevron, Ecopetrol and ExxonMobil
  • Inventory development featuring bp, Ecopetrol and Petrobras

The report is available in both English and Spanish.
