
The International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples takes place annually on 9 August to celebrate Indigenous Peoples and their knowledge. The theme this year is ‘Protecting the rights of Indigenous Peoples in voluntary isolation and initial contact’.

Learn how members are advancing biofuels and CCS to decarbonise transport and heavy industries; investing in forests to enhance carbon sinks; supporting socio-economic development in local communities; streamlining health compliance; and offering free training for the energy transition. This report evaluates existing circular economy measurement frameworks and identifies how a combination of frameworks enables better measurement of circular economy by O&G companies.

This quarter Ipieca attended the Bonn Climate Conference, supporting preparations for COP30 and provided technical input to the IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee meeting. We also raised awareness of the UN Ocean Conference and various UN International Days, as well publishing five resources aligned with UN conventions and initiatives.
