Section 3: key circular economy indicators

Section 4: reflections on measuring circularity

Section 5: conclusions

Why companies should adopt circular economy

Through aligning the industry’s understanding of CE and providing a general approach to measuring circularity internally, the report enhances understanding of CE measurement frameworks, encourages innovation and fosters collaboration.

Increasing the circularity of production processes and products can support O&G companies to produce the energy the world needs, while reducing impacts on natural resources and cutting emissions. As well as providing climate, environmental and social benefits, CE helps builds long-term resilience and generates business and economic opportunities.

Who is this report for?

  • This report helps O&G CE SMEs, waste professionals and corporate sustainability units to:

  • Assess and evaluate the current circularity performance within their company

  • Identify opportunities for ‘closing the loop’ through filling the gaps of existing circular economy practices

This report evaluates existing circular economy measurement frameworks and identifies how a combination of frameworks enables better measurement of circular economy by oil and gas companies.
