The practical examples are voluntary actions that members can undertake to demonstrate support of the principles through company operations and the supply chain. They are not binding commitments nor minimum expectations on member companies.

Applicability of the suggested actions to any particular company will be dependent on a range of factors, including organizational size/structure, business models, policies and procedures, national/regional circumstances, level of economic development as well as applicable law and other factors specific to the particular company. Depending on how far along their sustainability journey a company is, the practical examples can act as a benchmark against which companies can check their progress, or provide new ideas that can take an organization to the next level of sustainability performance.

This is an evolving toolkit that will be regularly updated with voluntary actions, relevant resources, and case studies, taking into account new Ipieca guidance, industry/regulatory developments and stakeholder expectations.

An additional repository of case studies provides tangible examples of how members are putting the principles into action.
