As we transition to a more sustainable future, alternative fuels and their associated products are becoming more prevalent in production, manufacturing, and use. Their safe handling and prevention of spills is a the priority.
The first suite of five includes a fact sheet covering oil characterisation, which gives basic information to support the other factsheets on biomass-based diesel fuels, very low and ultra low sulphur fuel oils, condensates and non-floating oils.
These quick reference tools are the first of a broader series of fact sheets Ipieca is developing. Future fact sheets will cover alternative fuels including ammonia, methanol and ethanol.

10th Ipieca-IMO Global Initiative for West, Central and Southern Africa regional conference
Taking place in Togo, the conference brought together 120 participants, including key government and industry representatives from 20 African countries to share good practice and provide technical support to enhance oil spill preparedness and response.
