Industry, government and regulators to join the debate at Interspill 2015

For three days the oil and gas industry is set to discuss the importance of maintaining focus on oil spill response across all sectors at the Interspill conference and exhibition to be held on 24 – 26 March, Amsterdam. Under the theme of Working Together the conference aims to not only reflect on past events, but consider the likely future issues for oil and chemical spill prevention, response and restoration.

IPIECA has been heavily involved in the planning of the conference and will participate in number of events:

  • IPIECA’s Executive Director Brian Sullivan will deliver a keynote speech during the conference’s opening plenary session on Tuesday, 24 March at 10 am. He will also chair a session entitled Stakeholder engagement: focus on communication later that day at 1:30 pm.
  • IPIECA will run a session focusing on the IPIECA-IMO Global Initiative on Wednesday, 25 March at 11:30 am. The session will provide an opportunity to hear about recent progress within established GI programmes, and IPIECA will also discuss potential new GI programmes under consideration
  • Rob Cox, IPIECA’s Technical Director and conference Chairman, will also present the work of the IPIECA-IOGP Oil Spill Response Joint Industry Project (OSR-JIP) at a session entitled Review of Joint Industry Projects at 2 pm the same day.

The conference programme includes sessions on future risk, stakeholder engagement, multi-agency response, emerging technologies, wildlife preparedness and regulation. Spill Industry Seminars and Scientific workshops will be held alongside the conference programme on the exhibition floor, and are free to attend.

IPIECA and the IPIECA-IOGP OSR JIP will both be part of the exhibition for the full three days, sharing a stand with Oil Spill Response Limited – please come and see us at stand B20.
