  • Workshop report: The current state of climate change science—physical impacts and risks
Calendar25 July 2024

The report for Ipieca's virtual workshop on 'The current state of climate change science – physical impacts and risks' is now available.

This was the first in a series of workshops Ipieca is hosting on climate change adaptation and resilience.

The purpose of the workshop was to:

  • Build an understanding of the current state of climate change adaptation science, including insight from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) Working Group I (WG I) and WG II reports
  • Share learnings on exposures and risks for energy companies and how they are adapting and building resilience
  • Identify future work for Ipieca in the area of adaptation and resilience

In the oil and gas industry, climate change adaptation and resilience are essential for companies to manage the impacts of climate change on operations and assets. This includes adapting to changes such as extreme weather and rising sea levels, as well as building resilience in supply chains and portfolios.
