Issues discussed at SB 60
Just transition

The Global Stocktake
Following on from the conclusion of the first Global Stocktake (GST) (which collected information from countries and other stakeholders on progress made on the Paris Agreement) at COP28, Bonn delegates discussed how the GST can be used to inform and raise ambitions in countries’ next round of nationally determined contributions (also known as NDCs, in which countries set out plans to reduce emissions).
Mitigation
Discussions focused on using investment related events to unlock funding and ensuring inclusive dialogue, including regional dialogues, to raise mitigation implementation.
Adaptation
The meeting discussed potential indicators for measuring Global Goal on Adaptation targets.
Finance
A technical expert dialogue on the New Collective Quantified Goal on climate finance - expected to be agreed upon by Parties at COP29 - explored how to make sure it is: ambitious, optimally structured, transparently reported on, and improves the quality of climate finance to developing countries.
Article 6
Delegates made important progress on key technical aspects of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement (which assists countries to cooperate to achieve their NDCs), including carbon credit authorisation, activity scope, and the international carbon market registry.
