Over 40 people gathered in at the Radisson Suites Sukhumvit in Bangkok, Thailand on 8 October 2015 to participate in an industry-government workshop on best practices in oil spill response, and to learn about the outputs from the IPIECA-IOGP Oil Spill Response Joint Industry Project (JIP).
The workshop was a first in a series of Outreach and Communications initiatives for the JIP in cooperation with the Global Initiative for Southeast Asia (GISEA). The workshop provided a great opportunity to learn from the research and work done by the JIP in the many areas that have fundamentally changed the way we think about oil spill preparedness and response.
Thanks go to Dave Davidson and Capt. Warawit Prasobwittaya (Chevron Thailand) and Joselito Guevarra (GI SEA) for setting up the meeting, and to the trainers - Dong Xin, Nai Ming and Geeva Varghese (Oil Spill Response), and Tom Coolbaugh (ExxonMobil).
For more information on the OSR JIP please contact Rob Cox, IPIECA Technical Director - OSR JIP Programme Manager.
