Ipieca is pleased to announce Idemitsu Kosan, an energy co-creation company from Japan as its newest corporate member, and welcomes BVEG, the Federal Association for natural gas, crude oil and geoenergy in Germany to its association membership.

Idemitsu Kosan

Idemitsu Group is an energy company with a globally expanding portfolio of businesses across petroleum products, lubricants, asphalt, oil and gas development, renewable energy, coal, petrochemicals, electronic materials, and agri-bio products. Its vision is 'an energy co-creation company that values diversity and inclusion, creates new values with customers and stakeholders, and seeks harmony with the environment and society'.

Recognizing the indispensable role of energy to social and economic development, and the pressing challenge of responding to climate change, Idemitsu Group has set targets for greenhouse gas reduction and renewable energy development by 2030, with active engagement in solar, geothermal, biomass and wind power businesses. The Group is committed to assessing changes in the structure of energy demand, and working to ensure a stable supply of energy, whilst boldly addressing global environmental issues.

Bundesverband Erdgas, Erdöl und Geoenergie eV (BVEG)

BVEG has been the voice of the German exploration and production industry since its foundation in 1945. Since then, BVEG has grown to represent the interests of natural gas and oil producers, associated service providers and storage facility operators, as well as advocating for the economic use of geothermal energy.

Environmental and sustainability issues are addressed through BVEG's Transparency Initiative, where knowledge is shared to further improve good practice and responsibility in the German oil and gas industry. A dedicated platform within the Initiative allows BVEG to inform stakeholders about environmental topics connected to the industry.
