Water case studies from BP and Repsol have been added to the Water section of the IPIECA website.
BP’s case study focuses on water minimisation in refining at the Australian Kwinana Refinery. The programme aimed to minimise water usage and increase reuse, encourage usage of lower quality water instead of potable water wherever possible, and achieve zero discharge of process waste to local bodies of water.
Repsol’s case study focuses on water management through the use of the Repsol Water Tool (RWT) to identify and assess water risks that have stabilized Repsol’s performance against the 2013 baseline data.
Case studies can enhance the collective experience of member companies through the sharing of good practice techniques and lessons learned. IPIECA is therefore keen to highlight stories of effective water management within the oil and gas industry, and we are actively encouraging other companies to share company case studies.
