Cenovus donates US$3 million to further natural habitat conservation
Cenovus Energy has announced a donation of US$3 million to the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Part of its updated social investment strategy, the donation will help conserve areas critical to biodiversity and ecosystem services, including grasslands, wetlands, lakes and forests across Western Canada.

McDermott joins industry experts on UK hydrogen hub and CCUS project
McDermott has joined a project led by the UK North Sea Transition Authority aimed at delivering a sustainable hydrogen supply to the UK. The Bacton Energy Hub project will develop facilities to support low-carbon hydrogen production, carbon capture and underground storage by 2030, as well as renewable hydrogen production with offshore wind by 2050.

PETRONAS has completed the pilot phase of 'Rays of hope', a corporate social responsibility programme providing free solar energy to enhance livelihoods at selected communities, orphanages and elderly care homes. The initiative will expand to reach additional homes and community-based centres across the nation by 2025.

TotalEnergies and ENEOS to study sustainable aviation fuel production
A collaboration between TotalEnergies and ENEOS will explore the feasibility of producing sustainable aviation fuel at ENEOS's refinery in Yokohama City, Japan. The collaboration will help develop and support a sustainable aviation fuel value chain and contribute to Japan's target of 10% sustainable aviation fuel use by 2030.

Ipieca attended the 5th UN Environment Assembly whose theme was 'Strengthening actions for nature to achieve the SDGs'. Fourteen resolutions were adopted including a landmark plastics treaty, and resolutions on nature-based solutions and the circular economy to support sustainable development.
