Low-carbon products and solutions take centre-stage in the October round-up as we lead up to COP28 at the end of November. Ipieca biodiversity workshop brings together energy professionals to share knowledge and build capacity
The three-day Biodiversity and ecosystem services (BES) peer-to-peer workshop, run by Ipieca, facilitated by the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), and hosted by PETRONAS in Kuala Lumpur, brought together 60 energy industry professionals from 16 companies to drive awareness and uptake of BES management good practices.

OGCI Annual Report shows companies ramp up low-carbon investment, reduce emissions
According to OGCI’s annual progress report, the 12 member companies have collectively halved absolute upstream methane emissions and cut carbon intensity by over a fifth compared with the 2017 baseline. Support for the ‘Aiming for Zero Methane Emissions’ initiative now numbers over 90 companies, and work to advance CCS hubs has emit around 1 gigatonne of CO2 a year.
