COVID-19: supporting our industry, workers and communities where we operate

As governments, employers, workers and whole societies worldwide are faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 World Day for Safety and Health at Work is focused on addressing the outbreak of infectious diseases at work, in particular, on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ipieca and its member companies are committed to protecting their people, supporting the communities where they operate and continuing to provide the essential energy the world needs during this unprecedented time.

Ipieca-IOGP Health Committee COVID-19 action

For almost three months now the joint Ipieca-IOGP Health Committee has been working on issues such as COVID-19 testing, how and when to evacuate infected people, as well as working remotely and in offshore locations.

Responding to the emotional toll of the COVID-19 pandemic, the joint Health Committee is currently producing a briefing document on the mental health impacts of the pandemic.

Enabling a global industry response

Ipieca's Social Responsibility Group has convened its worldwide membership to collect and share initiatives on how they are tackling COVID-19, ensuring the safety of their workers and the wellbeing of the communities where they operate.

Ipieca member companies operate in over 180 countries. By bringing together organizations from across the industry, collating and sharing knowledge, we are contributing to the global fight against COVID-19.

Health and safety at work will play a vital role in containing the spread of the virus. Ipieca and its member companies are committed to the wellbeing of everyone involved in oil and gas operations and supporting the world to combat the COVID-19 crisis.
