Co-use refers to the intentional integration or combination of multiple activities or functions on the same landscape or project. In the context of renewable energy, this typically involves using the same area of land or infrastructure for energy generation and other productive activities such as agriculture or nature-based activities.
About the co-use compendium
This compendium focuses on co-use opportunities that optimise land use and infrastructure by combining renewable energy production with other activities. It is designed to raise awareness, provide guidance and support initial strategic thinking on the exploration and development of different types of co-use opportunities that optimise the overall productivity of space and infrastructure supporting solar and wind energy facilities (mainly onshore) while maximising the social, environmental, and economic values and benefits of the project.
