The oil and gas industry operates in many locations where people live and work together in close quarters, such as offshore installations, ships and remote camps. In these locations, infectious diseases can spread quickly, affect many people and disrupt facility operations. This document is aimed at local management and operations personnel working in these locations. It offers guidance for the prevention, identification and control of infectious disease outbreaks. It also provides advice on reviewing lessons learned to enable continuous improvement in the management of infectious diseases.
