There is a growing demand for metal and mineral resources that are needed for the energy transition, including for wind and solar energy developments. Mining, processing, and use of these metals and minerals produce emissions and have environmental and social impacts. Broken supply chains can also increase the criticality and risks associated with these metals and minerals.
Ipieca is organizing a 3-part webinar series to deepen understanding around the challenges and solutions to the increased demand for mining raw materials for the energy transition, particularly in wind and solar energy projects. The series will convene Ipieca members and stakeholders to share learnings, discuss priorities, and foster collaborative approaches.
