bp launches plans for low-carbon green hydrogen cluster in Spain
bp launched the green hydrogen cluster of the Valencia region (HyVal) at its Castellón refinery, which aims to develop of up to 2GW of electrolysis capacity by 2030 for producing green hydrogen at the refinery.
Together with Siguler Guff, Halliburton has launched the Envana Software Partners joint venture (JV). The new venture provides emissions management software solutions to track greenhouse gas emissions in the oil and gas industry and beyond.
Neptune Energy, Ørsted and Goal7 to explore powering integrated energy hubs with offshore wind
The three organizations have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore powering future Neptune-operated hubs in the UK North Sea with renewable electricity from Ørsted’s Hornsea offshore windfarm. Goal7 will provide project management support and technical input.
Repsol expands portfolio of renewables projects in Spain
Through the purchase of three wind farms and two solar plants, Repsol has added 250 MW to its portfolio of renewable projects in Spain, which now totals 3.2GW.
TotalEnergies invests in biogas and solar projects in Poland
TotalEnergies is developing its renewable activities in Poland by acquiring the country’s main biogas producer, Polska Grupa Biogazowa, and a 200 MW development pipeline of solar projects.
This year’s update provides the IEA’s latest estimates of emissions from across the sector – drawing data and readings from satellites and ground-based measurements – and the costs and opportunities to tackle these emissions.
IMO hosts Africa’s first green shipping conference
Held in Ghana, the conference provided a forum to discuss opportunities and challenges for African countries in the decarbonization of international shipping, including a global regulatory framework put in place by IMO, addressing energy efficiency, development of new technologies and investments in renewable energy and infrastructure.
OGCI satellite monitoring project in Iraq helps tackle methane emissions
The OGCI pilot programme with greenhouse gas monitoring company GHGSat and Norwegian climate consultancy Carbon Limits has successfully demonstrated that satellite technology has significant potential to tackle methane emissions at oil and gas operations.
