During Ipieca Week 2026, Ipieca held two panel sessions on 'Energy transition in a fragmented world: the geopolitics and future of oil and gas' and 'Energy transition priorities for the Global South'. The key messages are captured in these reports.

This quarter Ipieca attended the UNFCCC Bonn Climate Change Conference, UNEP-WCMC Nature Action Dialogues, ICAO Aviation Climate Week and IMO sessions. We also raised awareness of several UN days, and published two resources aligned with UN conventions and initiatives.

From a fuel-flexible gas turbine for shipping, a carbon credits initiative mobilising ecological restoration and green jobs in the Amazon, to a real-time methane emissions management platform, and a clean cooking programme—Ipieca members are continuing to innovate and deliver practical, scalable solutions to sustainability challenges across the globe.

The May round-up showcases members’ commitment to support the local communities where they operate including flood relief support, fund raising for local non-profits, scholarships and internships. We also cover progress on biofuels, nature-based solutions and solar facilities as well as a partnership approach to assist industrial customers’ decarbonisation efforts.

The April round-up showcases continued investment in the energy transition alongside community and nature focused initiatives. Key themes include financing for low-carbon fuels, quantifying carbon stock in Brazil, partnerships to support education, and marine and coastal ecosystem restoration.
