ADNOC announces plans to reach net zero by 2050
The UAE’s ADNOC has announced plans to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 and reduce its carbon intensity by 25% by 2030. The announcement builds upon ADNOC’s track record as a lower-carbon intensity energy producer, which includes its use of zero-carbon grid power, a commitment to zero flaring as part of routine operations and deployment of an at-scale carbon capture project.

Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley joins WEF initiative to decarbonise industrial clusters
The Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley, led by Cepsa, has joined the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) initiative Transitioning Industrial Clusters towards Net Zero. The initiative aims to connect 100 industrial clusters across the world to reduce 1.6 million metric tonnes of CO2 emissions, retain and create 18 million jobs and contribute US$2.5 trillion to global GDP.
ExxonMobil moves forward with renewable diesel facility in Canada
Imperial Oil Ltd, a majority-owned affiliate of ExxonMobil will invest over USD 500 million into the construction of a renewable diesel facility in Canada. The facility will use bio-feedstock and low-carbon hydrogen to produce 20,000 barrels per day, reducing annual greenhouse gas emissions from the Canadian transport sector by about 3 million metric tonnes per year.
Petrobras joins Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0
Brazil’s Petrobras is the latest Ipieca member to join the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0. The company aims to reduce methane emissions by 55% in the upstream segment by 2025, and is considering creating a new division to develop renewable energy sources to further its low-carbon strategy.
How companies can lead to make the energy transition work for people and planet
Council for Inclusive Capitalism Chief Executive Officer Meredith Sumpter explains how members of the Council are implementing its private-sector guide for the just transition. Drawing from internationally recognized frameworks and indicators, the Just Energy Transition Framework for Company Action is increasingly being used by industry and global investor networks as a benchmark for advancing environmental, social and economic goals across the energy transition.
