Baker Hughes Foundation to support social innovation in Singapore
The Baker Hughes Foundation has announced its intention to contribute USD 100,000 to the Lien Centre for Social Innovation to help bring awareness to and drive change on social issues such as poverty, equity and sustainability in Singapore. The proposed partnership also supports Baker Hughes' commitment to advancing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 1 through to 4.
Eni shares key human rights outcomes and opportunities in its new report
The 2021 edition of the annual Eni for human rights report reinforces the company's focus on advancing a people-centred just transition, highlighting recent progress including the creation of concrete Human Rights Action Plans for operations considered more at risk, as well as a strengthened commitment on women rights.
Equinor backs pilot to grow carbon-capturing seaweed
An experiment off the coast of Norway is exploring whether offshore seaweed farms could provide carbon capture and storage (CCS) solutions. Partly funded by Equinor, the joint industry project named Seaweed Carbon Solutions aims to find ways to scale seaweed cultivation and compete with established industrial CCS technologies.
Hess supports national healthcare initiative in Guyana
In collaboration with the government of Guyana and Mount Sinai Health System, Hess is jointly funding a national healthcare initiative to improve the quality of and access to healthcare for the people of Guyana.
Collaborating to advance Malaysia's carbon-neutral aspirations
A memorandum of understanding signed by PETRONAS and Malaysian electricity company Tenaga Nasional Berhad will drive innovative solutions to support Malaysia's decarbonization efforts. The two companies will collaborate on a study for the development of a green hydrogen ecosystem and carbon capture and storage technology.
Three Ipieca members join forces to develop major offshore CO2 sequestration project
A joint venture between Ipieca members TotalEnergies, INPEX and Woodside has been awarded a Greenhouse Gas Storage Assessment Permit off the northwest coast of Australia, an area deemed promising for geological storage of carbon dioxide. The project complements existing solutions for low-carbon LNG production in Australia.
In line with its 'shared prosperity' objectives, Tullow Oil continues to support micro, small and medium sized enterprises in Ghana by enhancing their access to finance, and helping them gain the skills and opportunities to grow their income.
Wintershall Dea and NWO agree plans for hydrogen production in Wilhelmshaven
A plant for the production of large volumes of low-carbon hydrogen using Norwegian natural gas is being planned by Wintershall Dea in collaboration with Nord-West Oelleitung (NWO). The BlueHyNow project will use existing pipeline infrastructure from NWO to transport the hydrogen to industrial customers.
Methane Guiding Principles initiative launches toolkit to support the Global Methane Pledge
In support of the Global Methane Pledge launched at COP26, the Methane Guiding Principles initiative has developed a Methane Policy Toolkit to help governments take action to reduce methane emissions. The toolkit includes three main sections covering partners, resources and case studies.
