  • GHG emissions and the cost of carbon abatement for light-duty road vehicles
Calendar1 July 2011

The 'GHG Emissions and Cost of Carbon Abatement for Light-Duty Road Vehicles" is a compare and contrast analysis of three comprehensive and independent studies published in the United States and Europe.

The report assesses a wide range of current and future vehicle/fuel pathways, including costs and complete lifecycle GHG emissions. It describes the similarities and differences in assumptions and results among the three studies and addresses ranges of uncertainty.Despite some regional differences, this work finds that the conclusions from the three sourced studies are similar and points to the cost of carbon abatement ($/tonne CO2e) as a useful metric to compare different vehicle/fuel pathway technology options.
