This quarter Ipieca attended the Bonn Climate Conference, supporting preparations for COP30 and provided technical input to the IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee meeting. We also raised awareness of the UN Ocean Conference and various UN International Days, as well publishing five resources aligned with UN conventions and initiatives.
As my secondment with Ipieca comes to an end after more than six incredible years, I’ve been reflecting on the milestones, challenges, achievements but especially people that shaped this journey. Numbers often tell the story better than words, so I’d like to share some of the figures that defined my time.

The October round-up showcases the industry’s innovation—from the industrial production of renewable gas to splitting methane into its valuable components. We also highlight partnership as a backbone of progress across CCS, flare reduction, energy transition, circular economy, and regional outreach.
